Description
The BSM R05 DELPHI module for Citroën and Peugeot vehicles is a vital electronic component designed to manage and distribute electrical power in the engine compartment, ensuring the reliable operation of various electronic systems.
This module acts as the primary distribution box, responsible for directing electrical power to different systems and components such as headlights, wipers, fans, and other critical systems. It also protects these circuits from overloads and short circuits through integrated fuses and relays.
How to Replace BSM?
The BSM R05-00 9664706280 unit is located in a plastic housing in the engine compartment next to the battery. Before removing the BSM unit, it is essential to disconnect the positive terminal from the battery. Next, loosen the 13 mm nut. Unclip and disconnect all connectors except for one, which will be used to pull the unit towards you. On the sides of the unit, there are small clips that must be released using a flat screwdriver while pulling the last cable towards you. Additionally, two clips underneath the unit holding the large fuses must be released. Once done, installation is performed in reverse order.
Given the wear and tear from usage, BSM units like R05 commonly fail over time due to electrical surges, environmental factors, and general wear on the internal components. Ensure your vehicle’s electrical systems are running smoothly by replacing a faulty BSM module.
